If you’re looking for some sunshine in your life, Tenerife is the place to go. With one of the places with the most sunshine throughout the year, and plenty of different places to see and explore, if you’re mentally ready to shake off a hard winter, Tenerife is waiting for you.

Here are some things to do in Tenerife:

Visit Siam Park

This cool park has a Thai theme, something that you may be surprised to see. It somehow works though, and the many adrenalin-packed water slides and rides are a great option, especially if you’re taking the kids on holiday with you.

If you want to relax, spend some time floating along the lazy river while the kids go on the Tower of Power (a slide with a drop of around 90ft).

Explore the bars and restaurants

Tenerife is home to some of the best bars and restaurants around, so be sure to bring an appetite. Visit El Rincono de Juan Carlos which is a family-run restaurant with decent prices and food that you’d be forgiven for thinking is Michellin-starred.

When it comes to bars, the best idea is to spend a bit of time visiting a few different bars to see what strikes your fancy, although St Eugenes is a great bet with live entertainment, a dance floor and family-friendly atmosphere.

Head to Playa Del Duque

This is a gorgeous sand beach reminiscent of the Caribbean. You may want to stay here in one of the many excellent hotels before spending some time sipping coffee at a cute cafe or browsing some of the high-end shops.

Go Scuba Diving

If you’re a fan of scuba diving or snorkelling, you’ll be going to the right place. Tenerife is extremely popular when it comes to scuba diving, with plenty of dive schools ready to give you lessons if you’re a beginner or hire you equipment if you’re more experienced. It’ll be a bit chilly in January with temperatures around 18 degrees, rising up to around 26 degrees in August. If you ask your guide to show you the harbour wall close to Puerto de la Cruz you’ll be bale to gaze at incredible formations of volcanic rock- just be sure to bring an underwater camera.

Scuba diving isn’t the only water sport available, and if you like wind surfing, jet-skiing, snorkelling or surfing you’ll also be spoilt for choice.

When it comes to a cheap but fun holiday, you can’t get better than Tenerife. With so many budget flights available throughout Europe, head to Tenerife for your holidays and you’ll be able to truly get away from it all without having to get on a plane for 12-15 hours.

The good news about Tenerife is it can either be a romantic holiday or a family-friendly vacation depending on where you decide to stay and the activities you choose to do. So don’t hesitate, book your holiday today!
