I’ve noticed an interesting trend amongst long term travellers: that eventually it becomes a little bit too exhausting. You get travel burn out. You get tired. You start craving a little more stability and normality. I’ve seen it amongst my friends who are travel bloggers and now I’ve experienced it myself. So what are the options for the travel obsessed that need a home base? Becoming an expat is an obvious choice! You still get the opportunity to explore a new place, you can live amongst culture shock if you like it and enjoy a bit more of a routine. It’s the best of both worlds.

For those on the other side of the fence who are already enjoying the traditional lifestyle but seek a little more adventure and excitement, becoming an expat can be a fantastic choice for them too. Moving to another country, no matter the distance, can be a daunting task. But it’s also very exciting, it’s an opportunity to start anew, experience new cultures and make a mark for yourself somewhere else.

I really like this infographic because it shows you some interesting information about UK expats and where they end up, how long they stay for and their main motivations for moving. Once you’ve decided where you’ll go and found a job, the rest tends to be fairly easy. Thanks to the Internet things such as figuring out how to send money abroad become much easier.

Take a look at the following infographic and get inspired.
