If you’re planning a holiday to Fuerteventura, then you’ll want some suggestions of how to fill your time. If you’ve browsed photos of Fuerteventura before you’ll realise it’s pretty close to paradise, offering gorgeous beaches and wonderful weather year round. There’s so much more to this beautiful paradise than just laying on the beach (although that is a lot of fun) so we’ve put together a list of suggestions of top things to do in Fuerteventura to keep you and your family entertained:

Go On A Day Cruise:

Once you’ve reached paradise, the last thing you might want to do is get off the island, but this is only temporarily. Taking a day cruise is a great way to see some of the island better, you’ll be able to snorkel in areas that are crystal clear and home to a lot of bright, active marine life. You can choose to do half day cruises or full day cruises, depending on what you’re looking for. You can elect to go kayaking, sailing, diving… whatever you wish.

Learn to Surf:

There are few things Ben loves more than catching a good wave. Surfing is a great way to spend a lot more time outside, really making the most of your holiday while sneaking in some physical activity. If you’ve never surfed before, don’t worry! There are a number of surf schools that can not only rent you gear but help you with lessons for the basics.

Fuerteventura Oasis Park:

Do you love animals? Birds? Lemurs? Racoons? Head to Fuerteventura Oasis Park and surround yourself with lush vegetation and beautiful wildlife. You can pay a little more to do an encounter with lemurs, which includes feeding them. This is a lot of fun for anyone of any age as they will come over to you, lean against you and take food (gently) straight from your hands. This is a great way to spend a day if you get beached out!

Corralejo Dunes:

Who doesn’t love a good sand dune to run up and down? These are golden white and beautiful. The view out to the ocean is lovely as well. There’s a number of great places to walk and even a lovely cafe in the middle of the dunes if you feel like a refreshment. Corralejo Dunes are easily walkable from the town centre, making it an essential place to visit.

Ben and I are both beach bums and would love to spend a few days in Fuerteventura – it looks incredible. If you’re planning a trip soon we hope these tips help you plan your next adventure!
